How to become ANDI / IHMA HCO Trained and Certified?

At the same location as HBOT 2018, there will be a 2 day course prior to the main conference.

This will form the 16 hrs “theory” part of the HCO certification course.

This will be followed post-conference by “hands on” / practical application training & skills completion at an ANDI facility, or at your home facility (if an IHMA member).  Locations to be listed.

Once the practical skills are completed the candidate for certification shall notify ANDI HQ that they are prepared to sit for the exam.  This exam may be an open book exam that the technician can take online or with answers returned via email within a specific time limit.  ANDI staff will coordinate with the student to receive, grade and explain incorrect answers or schedule a retake if required.

Upon receipt of a successful exam result, the candidate technician will be accredited as an HCO Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 HCO.   The certification levels are dependent upon the facility status, equipment to be operated and completion of the practical application.  ANDI HQ will process the certification diplomas and record the licenses.  Optional Photo-ID Certification cards, wall diplomas and wall plaques diplomas  are available.

- Special Price Promotion -

OFFERING SPECiAL Course Fee for the 2 day pre-conference

If the course attendee is also registered to attend HBOT 2018, the cost will be discounted by $150.

If the course attendee is also a member of the IHMA, or chooses to join, the course will be discounted

by an additional $150.  So, a IHMA member also attending HBOT 2018 would pay $1,200 for the ANDI HCO program.

Already certified as a CHT?

For those who are currently CHT certified and wish to crossover to ANDI / IHMA ICHT may complete the pre-requisite course during the HBOT 2018 Conference with special consideration.

Can one who is already  National Board CHT certified or  UHMS CHT certified attend the course,  and to what benefit?

As incentive for certified CHT’s to experience our philosophy and methodology, the price of the HCO course will be further reduced to only $695.  This training and certification is ANDI HCO and not the ANDI / IHMA ICHT course format.

The CHT will not be required to complete “hands on” practical application training. They will however need to complete an affidavit that will include a checklist of required competency levels that they currently operate within.  The standard ANDI HCO exam is required to qualify for this additional rating.

Will HCO certification be available for Veterinary Hyperbaric Operators?

Yes, this course will be appropriate for animal chamber operations.  All veterinary professionals are encouraged to certify.  DVM and Veterinary Technicians (Certified VT, Licensed VT or Registered VT depending upon the state licensing variations), will be equally licensed.  Safe operation and protocol administration is the same in either animal or human application.

IHMA / ANDI will confirm that the standardized education will be consistent for all chamber usage.

This exam may be an open book exam that the technician can take online or with answers returned via email within an agreed time limit.  ANDI staff will coordinate with the student to receive, grade and

Upon receipt of a successful exam result, the candidate technician will be accredited as an

HCO Level 2 or Level 3 HCO.   ANDI HQ will process the certification diplomas and record the licenses.  Optional Photo-ID Certification cards, wall diplomas and wall plaques diplomas  are available.
